A Sick Day

A travel blog entry by ddmac54 on Sep 12, 2015

Sorry family and friends, today is a sick day. I started feeling worse as the day progressed. My throat became sore and a little constricted. I had a tough night and got up in the middle of the night to take more aspirins and gargle with salt water. Unfortunately, I took it into the downstairs bathroom, threw back my head and saw two daddy-long-leg spiders on the ceiling. I almost swallowed the salty water! Gross.

Blustery Day - Shopping in Braunton

... were low on fruit and veg so we headed into the next village over for supplies. It is a cool, blustery day and there was a lot of traffic in Braunton.

One of the things I haven't mentioned is the English drivers' horrible habit of parking on the street. I mean both sides of the street, actually blocking a lane. ...

... cat on the road. That was it for me. Sights like that make me cry so Michael and the GPS Lady were on their own.

Ilfracombe is a gorgeous seaside town, but extremely steep so there was lots of climbing involved. The problem is that Michael is still suffering the last of his cold and I'm afraid I have now started to feel a cold coming on. We did get a few shots of the town and I picked up a bit of its history. The church up on the rock was built in 1321 and was first ...
