... large and bland while the filling was fairly dry with lots of onion. I am sure it was a hit with the miners as it didn't fall apart as you ate it. Having done our duty to try one, we don't do that again. The harbour was interesting as the tide was out and there were many boats just lying on their sides in the sand. We enjoyed our stay in Bristol, especially the games of snakes and ladders and Uno with Isobel. Susan and Robin met us at Barnstaple station and , after a bit of shopping in Lidl, took Lilli and the luggage back to Northfield Lane while I cycled back. It was lovely to sit in the sun for our afternoon tea and later on for dinner. The resident hedgehog put in his nightly appearance and walked past back home after devouring his supper of meal ...

We started the day well as usual with a hearty breakfast. P*************sterol tablets because it contained fried bread as well as all the trimmings! Off we went and our first stop was to Tintagel, again a steep descent to the visitor centre where we had a look around but declined to climb up the steep hill to the castle. We have had a lovely day today, we left Ilfracombe and the sun started to shine. Today was a nostalgic trip, we drove to Barnstaple first of all but it was Sunday and everything seemed to be closed! We carried on to Torrington and went to look at Pathfield, it is 35 years since Mom and Dad lived there but we looked at their house and then went for a walk down the lane that Mom loved so much.
