... We parked in the town and walked to the lake which was very nice in the sunshine.

At the lake there was a pontoon which was nice to walk out onto, the water was amazingly clear in the lake you could see right to the bottom. There was also a little swimming pool which was part of the lake but with steps down to it - I cant believe people actually swim in there!! It was iced over at the sides which shows how cold it is. ... the gooey, creamy cheese with crispy baked crust. On the subject of baked things, I have developed quite a taste for pretzels for breakfast this week, realising that the tiny snacks in bags that airlines hand out are not the real McCoy, which is actually a fluffy is delicious, crunchy very yummy creation. Left the hotel at 10am. Weather was absolutely gorgeous, mid twenty, blue sky, not a cloud in sight. We went with the FestungsBahn to the 'Festung Hohensalzburg. As it was really high, Leonie started to feel vertigo so we retuned. Went to Salzburg old Town. We purchase a Salzburg Card which gives free public transport and entries of most attractions. We visited the Mozart Wohnung and then the Mozart Geburtshaus. Both very interesting. Walked around, looked at the beautiful buildings and shops.
