    ... in Orange Walk! Other than the usual barking dogs, my room at the Orchid Palm Inn was clean and comfortable and a had a reasonably good nights sleep. I had to book a double room for my first night, so in the morning, I had to be packed and ready for the maid to move my stuff to my single room while I was on my all day river and ruins tour.     ... breakfast, lie in the sun, read, snack, read, lunch, lie in the sun, snack, read, maybe another swim, dinner - well, you get the picture. I managed to remember the Merseyside derby was taking place and was able to tune into Talksport on the ipad whilst sitting on a little jetty, dipping my feet in the water.     ... in a small town in Belize! Unexpectedly the best service and food so far on the trip.

    After soaking up the laid-back vibe in the town we headed out on the New River, a waterway for the ancient Maya, with our raster captain 'Hugo’, towards the Lamanai Maya Reserve. The scenery was stunning with the meandering river and an abundance of wildlife - including crocodiles.
