... shadow to shadow we were laughed at by several locals. They were calmly waking across the blistering rocks while watching us bounce from foot to foot. The locals in question were little girls. It was a little humiliating.

The coastal town of Cuddalore is pretty busy and crowded. We see a lot of educational institutions, some big factories, including a PVC plant, a large power station under construction, and some brilliant green rice paddy country with women working in it. Our driver doesn't say a lot, but slows down and sometimes stop when it is obvious Murray is taking photos.

After a rest I joined the crowds in the streets around sunset, when people are returning from work, or heading out to do some shopping. It feels a little like the Southern European post siesta “passagiata” but a bit more busy and chaotic. Indians are great shoppers and snackers, so I fitted right in!
