... a ticket desk officer is a very naughty thing in India and frowned upon indeed; let's just say we will not be welcome at that particular station for some time. ...we noticed Indians love everything on wheels - from a guy selling snacks from a cart on a train ("Meals on Wheels") to an ambulance ("ICU on wheels") ...we saw more of the fun roadside warning signs: "Drive fine, no fine" or "After whiskey driving risky" being some ...

When I had been to Shimoga, I was able to decide where would be my next trip. Since then I was planning for a good time to fix this spot. After all alone to Shimoga, I thought visiting by train and buses will be more exciting and safe rather than traveling in Car.

Some homework – Kodachadri is surrounded by Shola forest. We can find steam ...

Last night I decided in my best wisdom to put up a mosquito net and using all of my engineering prowess, made sure it was 100% mosquito proof. Unfortunately it was also about 99% airproof and ended up roasting all night! Think tonight I'll take it down - even malaria is better than being that hot!

Started the day early - about 7am - and set off straight away on the 1.5hr drive to Jog ...
