    The guy with the legitimate service was very nice and didn't have to be asked to turn on the meter. The final cost was 350 baht. I gave him a 50 baht tip, shook his hand and thanked him for being a good guy.

    ... away from the free visa show to pack and take the 10 minute walk to the bus station. 32 degrees heat and an 18kg bag made it seem much longer but we had a short relief stop in the air conditioned mall opposite the bus station.
