We depart Williams Lake, leisurely approaching our future. Rather than rushing to depart, we're more than happy to enjoy the morning in a very comfortable motel bed, and hit the road at the late hour of 9am. The road today is a bit less eventful, at least until we get to a more than obvious rise of the Rocky Mountains. We cross the mountainscape ...

Prince George, British Columbia, Canada cribis... this town of around 100 souls to fish creek. We had to take the 2nd car park (hoping this is a sign that all the RV's parked are seeing some action) Down the walkway to the creek, Gee we just missed a bear, he had been there about 20mins before we arrived, the count of salmon in the creek was 7, easily seen and simply doing their thing. It was fascinating watching this natural cycle of egg laying and male fertilisation, in a ...
Prince George, British Columbia, Canada popusa2008... factor was the increased range of newer aircraft. This allowed foreign carriers to fly directly to the mecca of Canadian airports - Pearson International Airport in Toronto, without refueling in Montreal. In addition, Montreal went into a period of economic decline in the '70's and '80's due to the political situation based on linguistic and ethnic grounds. This all led to less traffic and the eventual demise of Mirabel. Mirabel was effectively closed ...
Prince George, British Columbia, Canada lobo... we had to decide was how to divide 25 days (not including day of arrival or departure) in the Hawaiian Islands. After searching internet sources and travel guides, we decided on an almost equal division of time on each of the four main Hawaiian Islands (there are eight islands). This required looking at the possibilities offered on each island and creating some type of itinerary for each. Frommer's Hawaii 2008 Guide was helpful with a short ...
Prince George, British Columbia, Canada lobo... bore to anyone else who is along for the ride. As a blogger/photographer I also have a keen eye for beautiful scenery which means stopping a lot to take photos. The reward is in capturing a beautiful scene. It may be rewarding for the photographer but it could be punishment to a companion who is not into stopping to take photos. There is a dichotomy in what I write. It sounds like I like traveling without Barbara. On the contrary, as the next Travelblog from Hawaii ...

He said that Fraser river was named after the white man who first came, but it was members of his tribe that showed him to the river !! is that right ? Versions of events as heard "on the street" varied widely. - two locomotives collided (implausible) - two locomotives collided on the turn just before the straight away along the Fraser River (plausible since there is limited visibility) - a locomotive and an out-of-control drone (unmanned locomotive) collided (almost ...
Prince George, British Columbia, Canada lobo... The impact of Connaught Park is precisely in its location and that one would not expect to find such an oasis of beautiful tranquility and "parkscaping" on top of what looks like a wooded knoll. Other than the pastoral, calm and tranquility among nature's splendor of trees, lawns and stunning flower beds is the beautiful vista the park affords of various parts of the city. It is like an aerial view at low altitude and it is fun to pick out the various landmarks ...
Prince George, British Columbia, Canada lobo... it runs along the Fraser River, the longest river in British Columbia. At this point the Fraser River becomes quite narrow and is distinguished by the tall, steep smooth slopes which erosion has created over the years along the banks of the river. Walking along here, which is part of the Heritage River Trails, with the setting sun catching the eastern banks, is one of the beautiful sights in Prince George.
