Well appointed but the breakfast is poor
I stayed at this hotel twice in the past couple of weeks, and it is a very nice place overall. It is quiet, well appointed, and convenient to the airport. A marble tub'shower is a nice touch tool. The front desk staff is unusually friendly and the housecleaning staff is nice as well. All in all a very nice place to stay. Two TV's is a little overkill, but nice. A comfortable couch, standard small fridge, microwave, and hair drier complete the extras. But, on the negatives...the breakfast was mediocre at best. Average doughnuts, some bagels, and a very limited fruits supply support a do-it-yourself waffle iron. This does not hold a candle to the Embassy Suites or the sheraton suites a block away. I was also surprised that although they have pay-per-view movies, there are no adult titles.
Great deal for the price!
We just stayed at the Spring Hill Suites near the Tampa Airport. (4/04) It was wonderful. Everything was new, updated - a great bargain for $79 for a weekend night.
This hotel was wonderful. We enjoyed our stay very much . I was worried that we would hear the noise from the airport, but never hear a single plane. The rooms were quiet, clean and nice and roomy.2 tvs kept peace with the kids. The breakfast spread in the mornings had enough to have something different each day. I was happy to find a very clean laundry room w/ supplies available at the front desk.Every staff member was pleasant and helpful. I only hope we will have the chance to return one day soon!
The Best Hotel I've ever stayed at!
We just came back from staying in the Tampa area, and this hotel has it all! Clean odor free suites, quiet at all hours, excellent security.
Incredibly polite staff at the front desk and all around. It's close to the airport, and the malls, as well as both Legends Field and Raymond James. I can't say enough about how great this hotel is. I'd stay there again next year when I return to the Tampa area for vacation.
Definitely 5star quality. One word of advice though, bring your laptop if you have computer needs as they do not have a computer in the business center. Stay here. It's a fabulous hotel!
Great place to stay!
I stayed there with my sister for 7 days in Tampa while we were going to Yankees spring training games. I can honestly say I would want to stay there again, and didn't want to leave! The people that worked there, from the front desk to housekeeping, were all friendly and helpful. It was quiet and the rooms were always well cleaned.
I would definitely recommend staying there, not only for it's locale but for it's service!
Springhill Suites Tampa Westshore Airport- couldn't ask for more!
My family and I spent 3 nights at this hotel in March, 2004. I selected this hotel mainly because of all of the positive reviews on this site, and because we got an excellent rate on another website. The hotel more than met our expectations; the room was very large and clean, the outdoor pool was good, and the free continental breakfast had an over-abundant selection. The location of the hotel is another bonus- very close to the airport, and to the International Plaza shopping mall which is loaded with lots of interesting restaurants. It was about a 40 minute drive to the beaches near St. Pete. We had spent our first 2 nights in Tampa at a downtown hotel which was much more expensive but was far inferior in quality to the Springhill Suites. We were delighted when we 'upgraded' to this hotel! The personnel at the front desk were always friendly and helpful. It's rare that I am this satisfied with a hotel- I would highly recommend it.
As a frequent business traveler, I was most impressed with this facility while traveling with my wife and sons on vacation. Talk about value! We arrived at about 10 PM and the friendly front desk staff suggested a good place to eat and presented complimentary cocktail certificates for Hoolihan's restaurant. Back at the hotel, we enjoyed a semi-suite room with 2 large TVs, and comfortable beds. The hotel has a fine looking outdoor pool (which we didn t use) and a well-equipped fitness centre, which we did use you see, my wife insisted! In Tampa, you ll be hard pressed to find better value for your dollar.
Great hotel must stay
This hotel was five star. It is very close to two malls and a sports bar (Champions). The staff is very friendly including Pete the night manager he made us feel very comfortable like we have been friends for years. It is a cab ride to Ybor city which runs about 14.00. I would stay here again.
Springhill Suites Tampa Airport -- Stay Here!
We moved to this hotel after a disastrous two nights at the nearby Amerisuites (stay far, far away from that). What a pleasure. Nice bed, comfortable, clean. Breakfast was good. This is a great choice for a business traveler who needs to be near the Tampa airport or in the West shore district.
Travel on business to Tampa on a regular basis. Also travel throughout the US for business. This is a top notch Hotel. Great staff, rooms are outstanding and the beds are better than what I have at home. Loved it so much, I make it my preferred stay in the Bay!! Scheduled to bring my family down for a vacation next month and this is the spot I booked. Just 5 Stars!

... approach rather than a cab. It's called uber. Wish us luck and hope we don't get kidnapped because uber works by having a random stranger pick you up and then you pay him or her after they have successfully dropped you off at your INTENDED location. We should get to you again tomorrow when we officially get started on our latest adventure! ...

I was taking notes but he said we could request his PowerPoint which I will do but it only gives the bullets. He gave a lot of additional information. Wish I could have taped him!

It was getting close to 3:00 so we piled in the car and then we went grocery shopping. Of course there was a detour so it took longer than expected. Jerry took the towels and dark clothes down to the laundry and got them washed. In the meantime I had taken some spaghetti out to thaw so I got dinner ready. Donna brought over some salad ...

... were back in the cars eager to get to the resort.
We arrived at Saddlebrook Resort and Spa...looking a little dry and in need of some rain....so far so good. Valet parking, bell boys, fancy lobby, we were all pretty impressed with our first impression of the resort. It had that Fiji resort vibe with which we believed they were trying to achieve.
Barely unpacked in our room, we were in our swimmers and off to the pool. Bar, lounge chairs, music ...
