Many have wondered about Shipboard life

... is, a major problem on board ships. Head offices began alcohol recovery programs on board (from crew to officers) for those wishing to go through the 12 step AA program. I remember in the 80’s on my first cruise contract, my boss in shore excursions would bring in his coffee cup first thing in the morning. He would open a desk drawer and pour in whiskey. He would pass the bottle to all of us. Crew can no longer bring alcoholic beverages on board ...

... Fortunately Carrie Miller, our friend who would accompany us to the Fair had a more realistic view of the situation. She had not even left her house by the time we called around mid- afternoon. “Can you pick us up!? We are stuck in La Jolla.”

We were both amazed at how many people came to the park that early!

... A couple of days ago, Gabe's mum taught me how to make authentic mexican tacos - Gabe and I made about 50 odd. Later that night I bit into one (a post taco dinner snack) and my fake tooth popped out! An expensive week in healthcare, but yesterday was a fun day of sending photos to friends and pretending to be a hillbilly. Today my teeth are back to normal but my next few days are going to be pretty quiet judging by how sorry I feel for myself today. Other than ...

    San Diego...

... in San Diego that night...this time Italian. Where we are staying (in the gaslamp district) seems to be the food capital for the city and there's great people watching. Friday we headed towards the water. We visited the seaport village which is purpose built for crafty shops...Luke found a nice bench to sit on while Bec shopped! We then went onto the USS midway which is an old aircraft carrier that's been turned into a museum. Luke was in boy heaven. ...
