I had bacon, eggs, and toast for breakfast which was free from the hotel. I am sad to see Tennessee in my rearview mirror but I am headed to Atlanta. I drove through the mountains and then stopped for lunch at Chipotle for $9.30. I only ate half and will finish the rest for dinner. I stopped for gas in Atlanta at Chevron for $36.90.

... Decorating the house and tree is a task made so much sweeter with family, glasses of Prosecco, and Bette Midler Christmas music!
Although we were only able to address a few ills of the world, we did have fun trying. As we depart onto our next stop, we bid a fond farewell and heartfelt thanks to Lisa and Phil for opening up their home and sharing their lives with us. They epitomize what family is all about.

Got to Atlanta on Friday, Nov 7 and stayed till Tuesday morning, Nov. 11.
Donna come over on Friday night and I just can't say how good it was to see her. She was actually the first one that I saw many years ago when I went to Atlanta to meet Damita after becoming a full time employee of CNN. The department was the Public Information back then and I remember the rain when I came in. I had to pull over and called Donna hoping for someone to talk to while I sat waiting for it ...
... a coup had been planned for when we arrived in Atlanta. Instead of having lunch and heading on yet another bus tour of a city, learning about lots of people that I will never remember, a rebel force (essentially everyone without grey hair) decided that we would break away and go and do our own thing.

... having enjoyed the amazing views, we will then return, via Kibo, to Horombo (3,700m). We have a final camp meal and overnight at Horombo camp. This is the toughest day that most trekkers have ever experienced, with around 1,200m of ascent, nearly 2,200m of descent, and 11-16hrs trekking. However it is VICTORY DAY!
