Historical Traveler Reviews SpringHill Suites Miami Airport South
I booked this hotel based on the great reviews I read and was not disappointed. Our visit was quick as we wanted somehwere close to the airport in order to catch a morning flight (shuttle leaves every hour on the hour). As was mentioned, it is a bit out of the way, but a good value. Rooms were clean and good size, the front desk helpful, and the large breakfast buffet a definite plus.
Couldnt have been more pleased
We stayed at the AmeriSuites Miami Blue Lagoon for 2 nights before a cruise at the end of May 2004. There was plenty of well-lit parking on arrival. We found the lobby to be very clean and comfortable with plenty of room for the breakfast serving area (which is in the lobby.) Our check-in was a breeze and within minutes of walking in the door we were headed up to our room. The front desk clerk was bi-lingual but spoke carefully to us and we were able to understand her easily. Even though it was late at night there was plenty of staff seen on hand and we felt very safe. The neighborhood is a bit secluded and not right in the middle of everything, which was a plus for us. Our suite was extremely clean (and I dont use that phrase generously) and spacious. We had a "TCB" handicapped suite (although we are not handicapped, it provided even more space for accessability. There were a number of other handicapped suites so I dont think we were "hogging." It wasnt a request of ours.) Upon opening our curtains we had a very lovely view of a nice section of Blue Lagoon and even the windows were clean. We never got a sense of that musty smell you get in most hotels at all, but the room smelled very clean and fresh. Even the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was sufficient and the attendant was very consciencious and friendly.
Our only complaint was that not knowing better we had scheduled our one night in Miami after our cruise at the AmeriSuites Airport West which is actually a bit further from the airport than this hotel. It was very run-down and I DONT recommend it at all.
Would Definitely Stay Here Again!
We visit Miami a lot, and this was the best hotel we've ever stayed at in Miami! Very nice and clean. Friendly and helpful staff, and delicious breakfast buffet!
After looking through all of the reviews for hotel around the airport I didn't know what to expect. I would recommend this hotel to all. It was very clean and the rooms were large with kitchenettes and a seperate sitting and work area. The complimentary breakfast was very nice. The pool was lacking but everything else made up for it.
I stayed 2 nights at this hotel. With my AAA discount it was incredibly cheap and the breakfast is really good. A friend of mine stayed in a hotel in south beach for almost the double price and their breakfast included only a bagel and coffee. Here you get cereals, bagels, muffins, eggs, danish, waffles, coffeee, orange juice etc. It is really great for the price. There is also free coffee at the reception 24 hours. The rooms are really large and clean. The hotel employees are very attentive. The view of the lake is a nice addition. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Very good choice, would recommend it!
Ok, its a little far from the action (20 minutes to South Beach), but its a great hotel. Nice and spacious rooms, very clean, friendly staff.
Lots of parking space and near the airport. I would definitely stay there again.
Great room, great services, loved the hotel
My best stay ever is with Amerisuites Miami blue lagoon. We stayed for 4 nights at this hotel, brand new rooms, clean everything, great breakfast buffet and very friendly staff. We were given a room with lake view, it was spectacular! The hotel is very close to the airport and it offers great rates too! I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone travels to Miami!
Great Place to Stay!!
I will start off recommending Amerisuites (Blue Lagoon) to any budget minded, but demanding traveller. After exhaustively comparing the hotel deals I got from Hotels, I chose AmeriSuites because it satified my original criteria: good price ($65 a night!), free parking, pool and breakfast. The breakfast, which went from 7:30 to 9:30 (Sat & Sun: from 8:30 to 11:30) was more than satisfactory for my taste: apple and orange juice, waffles, toast, breakfast cereal, flakes and fruit, and others. The rooms were new, large and very clean, consisting of 2 double beds, a breakfast nook, "living room" with pullout couch, bathroom, area for grooming, refrigerator, sink, cabinets and microwave. I was also impressed with the view overlooking a large lake (lagoon?). (Not all rooms had this view. Some rooms overlooked the airport. I would suggest someone booking a room to request the view of the lake). I was equally impressed with the other amenities, such as the 24-hour security officer, free transportation to/from the airport, the pool (which is HEATED and always open). A free box is available at the front desk for valuables, a laundry room and fitness center. Also available was a special internet center. At the back of the hotel, there is a section, where guests can relax and take in the view of the lake enjoying a barbeque. The room service was prompt, and like all other personnel, very friendly! The distance to MIAMi (beaches) is approximately 10 minutes (take SR-839 East from the hotel). In summary, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
Not for vacationers
Nice big rooms, close to the airport...but the buffet ends to early for people on vacation, and its too far from the beach.
Nice property, efficient staff
Stayed at this property 1 night. Was VERY impressed with the service of the staff and cleanliness of the rooms and entire property. Have never checked in/out of a hotel with such speed & efficiency! Airport shuttle driver went out of his way to make an extra stop for us. Did not expect a new property to have everything functioning this efficiently.

So we rolled into Miami around 1pm ready to jump straight onto a thriller harbour boat cruise, I was sweating my **** off, it's about 75% humidity and stinking hot!! The boat cruise was so fun, it wasn't very thrilling but we got a bit wet, I'm frigging sick of getting wet, we checked out a few celeb homes, like Ricky Martin, carmen Electra, brad and anges new pad and he owner of Pfizer's house, it's ******* massive and worth $79 mill!! This Road Scholar adventure is a far cry from the typical “mojitos and salsa” tourist experience that can be found at the all-inclusive resorts along Cuba’s coasts. We will spend two weeks traveling across the island from Santiago de Cuba to Havana, exploring 13 of the ...
