... doctors, opticians and especially drugs. The street was full of little shops and items of souveneirs, full of people, both tourists and Mexicans, walking from one place to another. The sweltering heat (40 C), almost impossible to go very long without going into shops to cool off, some only with fans.
After lunch in a typical Mexican restaurant in the area and buy some souveneirs, walking back to USA on Rio Grande.

When we left, we got on highway 83.w. We had a blowout on highway 83n. We heard a lot of noise and the rv started to shake. We waited 3 to 4 hours on the side of the road and the temp was 110*. Laredo, Texas, United States jacobsimsIts 6:15 PM, and our bus is about to depart for Queretaro, where we will connect to another bus or taxi onto San Miguel de Allende. I was surprised at how easy it was to get across the border. Karen and I went to the Mexican Consulate in Laredo to get our permisos. After eating lunch with my folks, we went to International Bridge #1 where we walked across with our luggage. Once across, we went into the immigration office to pay the fees for the permiso and then walked a few ...
Nuevo Laredo, Mexico hrsanchez... woman too much time to think about trying to up the ante, the kids made the offer. She jumped at it and after packing a food hamper for her and paying the $60, we drove out of there as a party of 6 with Larry "Nacho" McGregor. At our first stop the laundromat, Bev took him outside for a wee and after a game of cat and mouse around the cars in the car park and a quick dash across the road with Bev in hot ...
Laredo, Texas, United States mcgregors5... any debris still on it. Next time. Everything was going well and I hit the Columbia Bridge at 7:25 to find cones and barricades everywhere and the bridge closed. I knew it was not a 24 hour crossing, but Friday is still a weekday for most folks and I didn't evenconsider that the bridge might not be open. I talked to a security guard and who told me that the bridge didn't open until "ocho". When I parked my bike he started telling me in Spanish that I counldn't park ...

Laredo, Texas, United States trialsrider... blocking our lane. Cerro el Muerto came into view and we entered the town of Laguna de Sanchez. From there we drove to a place outside of town where local craftsmen are building an adobe house for Pato. He needed to make a payment and we inspected the spot where they had leveled the hillside and were making adobe bricks for the construction. There were hundreds of bricks stacked up ready to use and others in rows on the ground ...
La Viga, Mexico trialsrider... roosters and hens came by the door to look in on us and probably would have entered had there not been a gate made of sticks. At one point a large turkey looked in on us and then a gray cat. After we gave our thanks and said our goodbyes, we set off alongside a rocky arroyo for a couple of miles. This part was not near as challenging, but a lot of fun and I was really enjoying a ride that wasn't totally intense all of the time. Then we began ascending the ...
