... as I was crawling into bed, the toilet started to gurgle. When I went to investigate, I saw huge air bubbles erupting out of the bottom of the bowl. I shut the water off but it was nerve racking to pee as you never knew when the toilet was going to turn into a bidet! I am sure glad they did not rent the room to someone handicapped!

As I used the bathroom, I wondered who the organization consulted in designing the room. I had to move the bed in order ...

The last few days have been mostly about driving, walking and downtime up on a Vermont mountaintop. Lots of pictures with commentary in this post. I did a lot of pulling over to the side of the road and jumping out for photo opportunities.

We spent one day poking around the different neighborhoods of Portland before heading to the far north. I've spent time in Portland twice, both times in late fall, and both times ...

Cate and I then took our combined 3 dogs (Stormy, Cinnamon and Addie) for a beautiful hike in a local conservation area. Stormy, the fierce Chihuahua, did his level best to put Addie in her place, attempts which were mostly ignored. A good time was had by all.

Tomorrow I visit WEBS, the yarn mecca in this neck of the woods, then we head east and south towards Mystic, CT.

... br> Me: "Yes, I'm traveling to a malaria zone in Africa."
Them: "We don't cover malaria pills for use out of our service area."
Me: "So let me get this straight. If I get malaria you will pay thousands of dollars to treat me but you won't pay anything to prevent me from getting malaria."
      Them: "That is correct."

... it was time to go to bed. The following day, we would be heading back home to Austin.

I was anxious to get back home after six months away! Knowing that we would find the home in pretty good condition, I may have been able to stay a few more days on the east coast staying longer with Michelle and Tony and visiting the Kruzels again. I am glad we had the time that we did and I know we will see all the people we got to visit up here again very soon.
