    And along the drive saw so many names related to all that New England history we learned about in school!

    ... friend who spent the day driving me around the area. Took an elevator up to the old railroad trestle that spends the Hudson River and is not a Walkway across the Hudson. Visited the National Culinary School which is in an old monastery. Walked the property in Hyde park of FDR and drove by Val Kill, Eleanor's cottage, and the Vanderbilt house. Then drove to the Highlands area and - voila - the sun came out. ...

    ... now it is a barge pulled by a tugboat. Very interesting to watch the coming and going of the cars - three at a time. It is actually part of Rte 160. There was a continuous line of cars waiting to cross. Then it was off to dinner. It was nice to have a pretty relaxing day and we tried to watch the Royals game but only made it through the 6th inning - we are an hour later than home so that's our excuse. Another fun day and new and different sights. ...
