Just a Few Things to See in Alaska

I love Alaska, make no mistake about it. I have gone there for the past several years to enjoy the sites and people. I also make the trek in the late winter to enjoy the hiking possibilities in the solitude of the winter snow. Oh, and the distant moose encounters every now and then. This year, after careful study, I chose this particular time because the moon did not interfere with the late niht skies and the aurora forecast (http://www.gedds.alaska.edu/AuroraFore cast/) called for some activ...

... which I’m sure we would not be able to afford during the regular season. They accommodate gentlemen beagles, and I am enjoying it here. We are right on the Chena River. We have our own little deck, and I like to watch the boats go by on the river from there. We have a big screen TV which we have on a lot because we have not seen TV all summer and it is a novelty for us again. So all in all we are having a very good time.

Funky in Fairbanks,

Remington Beagle

... to see if they had some supplies for our trip home. The one thing they did have that I've been looking for the entire trip was a stick-on map of Canada for the RV to show what provinces I've been too. We also picked up an attachment to our sewer hose so a gallon of grey water would not come out every time I open the cap. And we got a new trailer plug for the truck since our current one is broken. With it broken our trailer breaks or our RV running lights seem ...

Rest Day

Miles: 0 Weather: Warm, Sunny, Scattered T-Storms For those of you who think Fairbanks is a cold and bleak city well think again. Alex and I slept in and woke to a sunny and warm morning. Well, it had been sunny since 0230. In fact, the sun didn't go down until 2300. Anyhow, the day was beautiful. Fairbanks in the summer is a warm, lush, and active town. There are people running on paths, lots of bicycles, motorcycles, people ...

The highlight of the flat had to be the bathroom with a wooden door that didn't shut fully, behind which was a sliding prison door, and the most impressive loo that any of us had ever seen. It had a heated seat and a separate knob labelled "Water Pressure". Whilst ...

... made ended with a click on the other end. Letting go. Each time you call someone is a little bit of letting go. There's trust that you'll call and talk again. Trust. But if you don't call, if there's no continued, what happens to the relationship. How can something grow without attention from both parties. A one-sided relationship, no matter the relation, is impossible to maintain over the telephone. The old adage about the number of people it takes to tango is proof ...
