The mansion on the other hand is a fabulous combination of 70s kitsch (green shag pile carpet, and that's just the ceiling!) and elegant rooms. Only the ground floor and basement are open to visitors - apparently Lisa Marie still uses the house when in Memphis. Sue felt a sadness about the whole place, despite its opulence. Such a waste of great talent in Elvis's early passing.

From there we drove up to Hoosier State Forest in Indiana. This time we paid for a campground. It was awesome. A completely empty forest campground that cost $4 in total! It was dark and in the middle of nowhere. We slept very well that night. The next morning we ended up on a gravel road for ages as the route we were supposed to take was closed because of flooding. We arrived in Chicago that evening ...

... what's on the sign. Haven't you heard of taxes? Fees? Markup? Service? and after ALL that they want a TIP as well. The Horseshoe looks like Rainbows End for Grown Ups. It's an old hotel but its huge inside. We parked and walked to the entrance, to the amusement of the coloured attendants. And they talk just like you might think but with more intonation. The lady in uniform at the door asks a question. Do you know if you walk back to your car and drive round the south ...
