... get those in Johannesburg. One amusing event occurred, the check-in agent told me she could only check my suitcase as far as Atlanta, not all the way to Dallas, because they didn't have an arrangement with Delta, and because I would have to collect my suitcase at the first port of entry to pass customs.

I told her that she could check the bag to Dallas and that all passengers would have to claim their bags in Atlanta, ...

From Roswell we drive to Carlsbad Caverns. The caverns are on the Unesco world heritage list, so we decide to pay them a visit. And we're off again! Leaving Meridian, MS and headed to Dallas, TX. I decided to take I-20 this time as I've taken I-40 and I-10 on recent trips. For those of you who aren't familiar with the major interstate highways that traverse the country West to East, I-20 is sandwiched in between the other two. Of all the options, I prefer the southern route (I-10) and kinda sorta wish I had taken it ...

... into Flagstaff, I was surprised to learn that we had joined the Old Route 66. It is a road I have longed to travel upon and finally the time had come. Our motel was located on this infamous road and Flagstaff was the vision of small town America. It was quaint and yet industrial. There were numerous yards filled with lumber or old trains and the air felt colder and fresh. I had ventured to these desolate lands in order to gaze upon one of the natural wonders of the ...
