We spent the last several days enjoying time with the extended Serpe family. It was a great opportunity for the younger generation to get to know each other:

- 36 state license plates found thanks to a South Dakota sighting at the Temple
... a very nice guy who listened to me babble and laughed even though I'm pretty sure he didn't quite get all my sarcasm.
Props to United for having an awesome choice of movie/TV selection! For some reason I was really feeling a Tom Cruise trip, so I watched Top Gun (Yes I did freak out when I saw that) and Risky Business. Mix that in with the Big Bang Theory, Friends, and Mary Poppins and you get one very happy Stacy!

A great start to our journey: everything running smoothly, on time, we are waiting at our gate at OHare. Today Alicia went to school while I finished packing and ran some errands. I returned some library books, bought some used books for Alicia and me (she's already finished one), and then picked up my favorite travel companion at school. ... in was out the door & 'round the corner so headed down past the outdoor jazz festival to the aquarium instead. The queue there stretched endlessly into the distance. Seeing the beluga whales will have to wait 'til another day. Maybe I'll see them in the wild some time and that will be ultimately better. Walked back along the waterfront of Lake Michigan. After lunch Abby and I made our way to the American Girl Store and McKenna got a new swimsuit. Then we all hit the rides for a couple more go 'rounds.
