By the time we left Indian Tube, we began to be grateful that we had visited early in the day. The weather around here seems unusual to a Floridian, but they see it as normal. It starts out in the morning in the 50's, and begins to warm up to the 70's buy noon, and this week, well into the 90's or 100's by 5:00, the hottest time of the day. Then it begins to cool back down. Since the lava is mostly black, it ...

Heidi also does some grocery shopping and we also get two bottles of wine with the intention of drinking one tonight. As we are still unsure about supper, Heidi gets inspired and purchases a roasted chicken, a loaf of freshly baked bread and both potato and macaroni salad for our dining ...

Our fresh water tank pump came on and flooded the bathroom and part of the kitchen, which we discovered during a roadside stop. After quickly mopping up, we continued on our way and believe the accident was probably caused by "operator error". :)

We plan to spend a week or two here, as there is so much to see and do.

        More later!

... an opportunity to spend the Fourth of July weekend in New York City. Oh and our first destination is Lisbon. Never mind we can fly there from Rome and we will be back to Rome in August!.

So here we are on our way, arriving at JFK at 3PM. We appreciate that our neighbor, Eldon Edmunson gets up early and he was in our driveway at 5 AM.

Thanks to the "Lady Lawyer" we met on the subway who made our trip from JFK to NYC a success. We checked into ...

... potato that I have been craving since South America. It's not a late night, and we head to Charlie's dad's condo for dessert! The next morning we are up fairly early to go have breakfast at Charlie's Dads' place then go for a hike up on Baldy Mountain. We decide to take the easy hike to the lookout which is only a coupe of miles and a fairly easy hike with an easy incline that overlooks the river and some fabulous looking very expensive houses. It doesn't take us long ...
