... the traffic was minimal. The land was so dry and desolate looking. There were no birds, no sign of wildlife of any kind. Not even any signs of road kill you would typically see on the interstates. The weeds or brush that you experience around here are just nasty things. I found a really nice bike trail in Vegas this morning. Cut my ride short because I was hitting the road on my way to visit my cousin in the Sacremento area. It is about 600 miles from Vegas to Sacremento, and Bakersfield is about the halfway point.

with us making any travel outside of school breaks virtually impossible.

      We'd planned to ...

... decided that instead of waiting for Monday afternoon to shop we’d start today and we are so glad that we did. We did find that we had a miscommunication so didn’t’ get the rice and did forget a couple of things that we can pick up tomorrow with no problem.

We were gone for hours and there is no way we could have gotten everything done tomorrow without going off the deep end.

Everything is being gathered in our living room now ready to assembly ...

      The Usual Last Minute Chaos

A travel blog entry by miss.chris on Jun 24, 2011

It seems like so many trips have mini disasters just as we are trying to leave: kids have emergency issues; appliances break down like the fridge and freezer last year. And so this year is no different.

I had a ton of stuff to do before we could leave; needless to say it included about 8 loads of laundry and getting our RV home.

I started a load of clothes 1st thing in ...
