I wished the Austin tour book was more picturesque; I would have found out about "the bats at the Ann W. Ric*********gress Avenue Bridge". It is the largest urban colony of bats in N. America! I needed some wifi to get some more paperwork done so I went to the public library. They wouldn’t let me in with food so I sat out the front. Then they told me to move from the front of the library because sitting there wasn’t letting the library keep its aesthetically pleasing appearance. Really, I reckon ...
I'm going to miss this city a lot. Today was a scorchahhh but we did a lot and I am now 50 shades of brown. Lunch was at a food trailer park on south congress. It's exactly what it sounds like. I was feeling adventurous and tried a rattlesnake & rabbit sausage with sauerkraut and onions. It was also exactly what it sounds like. Interesting tasting, 3/5 would eat again. ... in Austin around 4.30, it’s the state capital of Texas so we went for a little walk to the capitol building for some group photo’s. Got some BBQ for dinner at Stubbs – Fanny and Kathrin didn’t much like the smoked brisket but I thought it was good!
Went back to the hostel to get ready…took a quick shower which was interesting! 2 showers with ill fitting curtains – if you didn’t purposely avert your eyes ...
