    ... news the following day...my transmission is out and it would cost more to fix it than the car is actually worth...ugh! So I was carless for about a day, before I came across an amazing website: relayrides.com. It works like airbnb.com (the site that I used to find my apartment that I am living in right now), except relayrides is for cars. I found a car, sent a message to its owner, and within an hour the guy dropped off his car for me. I got a 2007 Honda Civic for $550 ...

    ... other than Clint Eastwood....and a whole bevy of cowboy heartthrobs I'd never heard of and enjoyed the sights and sounds of waltzing cowboys with serious style.

    All too soon my visit to Austin was coming to an end and it was time to fly to San Francisco. My stay in Austin would probably have been fun no matter what but it's always the people that make a place special and Maryann made my stay there completely awesome, just hope I can return the favour some day!

    We used today to orient ourselves to the Austin area. In the morning we drove to the Domain shopping complex nearby. The upscale shops, Macy's Department store, Apple and Microsoft stores provided several hours of interesting browsing. The shopping area is new and very beautiful with its tree lined street. We also drove briefly into the IBM complex nearby.

    ... and reporters!! Once again though, No celebrities were spotted! We are unsure just how many, if any? times we have been on the local news walking past the back of reporters.......
