I had my usual slow start to the day and managed to crawl out of bed at about 11. I walked around the town for a while, doing some window shopping and having a look at my surroundings. Easy paved roads through out to get you over to the beach at the swimming lake or the ramp at the boating lake or the group use building with large rolling lawn down to the water for fishing and kayaking/canoeing. I wanted to spend more time in Athens, but because of all the problems going on, plans kind of got extremely disorganized and we went to Athens on a whim. <br><br>We basically ended up in a bar and grabbed dinner at The Grit (famous for vegetarian cuisine), while briefly cruising around town. <br><br>I felt sad and sentimental that I didn't get to tour it more, but then again I felt relief; I have another university to call my own, for I am also a NYU graduate. ;) <br>

... sucks. I actually have an interview with the Sylvan in Athens on Monday, so wish me luck! And my first graduate class is on Monday, so it should be an exciting day. Hopefully I won't be the only twenty-something in the room. ha ha.<br><br>Love,<br>Ash

... the whole way back. We even coordinated our stops very well. We were back in Atlanta at 5 pm - but luckily not too much traffic. We stopped at the new Barrow Publix for some dinner and milk. The kids got to play with the neighbors while we unloaded the car. <br><br>Whew! <br>

... trees. <br><br>We got to the Days Inn in north Charleston, unpacked and watched the Airforce display team just a few metres above the hotel (it was right next to an Airforce base). Luckily the planes stopped flying in the evening.<br><br>Took the car out to Daniels Island, not knowing what we'd find, looking for a restaurant. We found a pirate themed restaurant - Queen Anne's revenge. There was much pirate activity in Charleston in the 17th-18th century apparently.

I've booked most of this trip, and now I'm realizing how slow the next 5.5 months are going to seem. A few more months of school (hopefully very kind on my golf handicap), then finals, then graduation, then bar prep, then Austin, then serious bar prep, then Katie quits her job, then the bar, then THIS. I'm psyched.

... The brothers were more than hospitable and their house was beautiful. With a fire burning, a leather couch for me to crash on and ESPN on television I was in heaven. Saturday would be even better. 12/02/01- Game day. The Bull Dogs were playing their last game of the season at noon. Red and black were the colors of the day. I woke up at 9 AM.
