    Arriving in French Lick is such a surprise. You're driving, driving, driving....then all I a sudden you round the corner ...there sits the most magnificent building you've ever seen. West Baden. So beautiful and so elegant. We went a little further to the French Lick Springs (where the Casino is located). We had planned to eat at the buffet/cafeteria but they stopped serving at 2 pm. So we decided to go back to the rotunda, West Baden.

    The last three days have been great. The ride from KC to St Louis was a pleasure, except for the last fifty miles in a pouring rain.

    On our trip from Louisville to St. Louis a sign on the side of the road enticed us to take a little detour to check out the Marengo Cave. Located in the heart of Indiana's Cave Country
    We are in Amish Country and had to pass two of their horse drawn carriages with families dressed in the full Amish clothes, along the way.

    Paul & Deanna took us to a cave (www.bluespringcaverns.com) that is toured by boat. Something we had never done before. The cavern is in Bedford, about 40 miles from French Lick. We got there a little early so we bought a bag of dirt that have gems in them & Kaptain showed Amanda how to pan for them. She made a killing & ended up with a big handful of gemstones.

    After that, it was time to go to the cave. The Tour Guide led us to the boat ...
