    ... were a few remnants of Australia's Americas Cup win in 1983, which was pleasing, including an Australian milk bar, replete with hot pies and all.

    Otherwise Newport was quaint in the way of all New England towns and was similar to villages in the UK of the same vintage (Newport is celebrating its 375th birthday this year!).

    So the breakdown of New England;

    2. Best city - Boston

    Moved on from wet Rhode Island to the sun of Mystic, Connecticut. First stop is the harbor to see if we can get a sailing trip in. Our lucky day - they have 2 seats left on the 2:20 sailing. Signed up, toured the town a bit, grabbed a coffee and cookie and off for our sail. The sun was shining and just enough wind to catch the sail and have us clipping along.     Within minutes, Alex was in the middle of 13 boys throwing a baseball-sized hard foam ball back and forth in sort of a modified pool version of dodgeball. For almost 45 minutes, Alex and the other boys laughed, yelled and splashed as they unwound at the end of the day.

    ... amazing dinner view. Mystics centre was quaint with idyllic old buildings, a picturesque draw bridge, interesting little shops, good food and a surprising amount of places to get a drink.
