    Putting In at Puddingstone

    ... inspection. So, this is my third trip to the RAM dealer service bay in 2 hours! They check everything and we are fine. Removing the oil filter drops some “residual” in an area which tends to drain slowly.

    Once again, I am reminded that often our trip is about the people and perhaps not so much the place. Thanks for fixing our RV and Truck.

    Enjoy the ride - just watch out for screws on the road!

    ... by the fact that everyone blocks an intersection during the yellow and even when you get a green arrow, you can’t go anywhere. Instead of 10 cars being able to turn on a green arrow, only two get through.

    If law enforcement wrote traffic citations for half the offenses I observed, the California Fiscal Crisis would be solved and the State could import tankers of Fiji water to solve the drought crisis as well.

    ... I got stuck in the sand, didn't we Fran!

    At Topock is the State Line between Arizona and California and it has been the main place to cross the fast and deep Colorado River ever since a bridge was built for Route 66 there. That is now a bright, white, painted arched bridge that carries a pipeline (you can see this as Route 66 in Grapes of Wrath), but there are also the remnants of another bridge, the current railroad bridge and of course I-40.

    This was a great 1/2 hour stop that lasted over an hour. Both Dave and I really enjoyed the visit.

    ... our birthday with people we love and care about in the states. I remember celebrating our birthday last year in Argentina and that is something I will never forget but it made me appreciate having people to come to at home as well. Not soon after our birthday was it our lovely mother's (yay mama!) She wants to be 60 so bad but only has one more year to go. Next year we are going to have a big shindig for her so keep that in mind :)
