Historical Traveler Reviews SpringHill Suites Pensacola Beach

      Great for families!

      from

The Springhill Suites was wonderful. The staff was very nice. The rooms were big, clean and comfortable. Each room has a kitchenette perfect for quick lunches in the room. Krispy Kreme doughnuts on the breakfast buffet! It is right on the beach and also has three nice swimming pools (one is for babies). It is a family friendly place. We would definitely go back!

      Loved Springhill Suites

      from

We stayed at the Springhill Suites in Pensacola Beach from May 6-9, 2004. Our room was on the second floor and faced the 3 pools and Gulf. The room was very clean, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony each morning and evening to take in the marvelous view. The complimentary breakfast had a vast array of options, such as cheese omelets, sausage, fresh fruit, Krispy Kreme doughnuts, oatmeal, cereal, bake-your-own waffles, etc. We were impressed with the beauty of the lobby/dining area and the outdoor terrace at the hotel. The hotel was conveniently located near shops, restaurants, and the beach. If I had the opportunity to return to Pensacola Beach, I would definitely return to the Springhill Suites.

      Very impressed, excellent hotel *****

      from

One of the best all around hotels I've stayed in in quite some time. The rooms and everything else at the hotel were very clean and the staff was extrememly friendly and helpful. They make it a point to remember your face and greet you everytime you walk through the door, they asked many times if we were enjoying our stay and if they could help with anything to just let them know. WILL absolutely stay here again. Would have had a good time in Pensacola Beach regardless since the people there are the nicest I think I've ever come across but having stayed at the Springhill Suites allowed us to have a GREAT trip. Make sure and take advantage of the awesome breakfast they provide. THANK YOU Springhill Suites Pensacola Beach for a great trip!

      Outstanding Hotel and Service

      from

A family event was planned at this hotel over a weekend. The staff could not have been more friendly, responsive and accommodating. As I was planning this event from overseas on short notice, I was worried that it would not go as planned and I was afraid of using an site unseen hotel. All of our guests could not believe how friendly and helpful ALL of the staff was the entire weekend (from housekeeping to management). Beautiful heated pool (perfect for November) and fantastic complimentary breakfast. A refreshing change from most hotels and their people make the difference. Great, convenient location, too.

      Great breakfast :)

      from

I'm actually from Pensacola, so I've been to almost every hotel on the beach and SpringHill Suites is my absolute favorite! The breakfast in the morning is the best around and the pool/hot tub/deck are beautiful and right on the beach. When I stay at the beach, SpringHill is the first place I look for vacancy. I recommend this hotel before any other! It's the best of Pensacola Beach!

      Very Pleased!

      from

The Springhill Suites was very nice. Right on the water, three pools, outside hottub by the pools, very friendly staff, and a nice continental breakfast. The hotel is very clean and the room was great.

They also have a small lounge that had complimentary appetizers at night (we were there during the week) Our room was facing the pool but we also had a nice view of the ocean. You are facing some other baconies but it did not bother us! You can also walk to the restaurants either by beach or sidewalk. We had a great time and we will definately stay at the Springhill suites when we go back to Pensacola.

      Loved the springhill suites

my family and I spent 3 nights at the springhill suites in june. I would highly recommend it,hotel is located directly on the beach it has 3 outdoor pools, the view from all the rooms is great, very clean property and the staff are so friendly.

      Fabulous

      from

Just got home 3-12-03 after 3 fabulous days at the Springhill Suites. The staff goes out of their way to make your stay comfortable. The continental breakfast was great with lots of extras. Hotel was clean and well kept, constantly saw someone cleaning and taking care of maintenance. The heated outdoor pool was great since the gulf water was a little too cold to enjoy. The Pensacola fishing pier was about 1/2 mile from hotel and was convenient for us to fish. (best fishing pier I have ever experienced) This was our second time to stay at this location and will not hestitate to stay here again.

      Trying Hard

      from

We dropped in without a reservation on the 4th of July and found a great price for super nice suite. It turned out it was their Grand Opening and they were a bit unorganized yet made up for it in smiles and enthusiasm. We had a beautiful ocean view suite with balcony and were very impressed with the decor and furnishings. It's hard to go wrog when your the first one in the room. Intermittent cable TV and a malfunctioning elevator required some tolerance. We look forward to our next trip to Florida and will be sure to give them another shot when they have the bugs worked out.

Not what I was confirmed with

      from

I spoke to reservations to make sure that I got a direct gulf front room and was told that was what I was paying $189/night for. When we arrived it was a side view of the gulf facing everyone else's balconies and overlooking the pool. I phoned the desk and he told me that was "gulf front". When I returned from my trip I looked on the net and the description was "direct gulf front". I e-mailed the hotel and the next day I called the guest relations office with Marriott. That afternoon I was informed by e-mail that I would get a response in 3 - 5 bus. days. Today is 2 weeks and I opened my e-mail to find out the manager of the hotel was offering me $10/night refund. I am not satisfied with that and informed her and she told me that I did have a view of the gulf, the pool and she forgot to mention everyone's balconies. I have never before stayed at a Marriott and will never again stay at one. Direct gulf front means just that. The mgr. did try to tell me they were only opened since July and I knew that, but they apparently don't even know what their rooms are called. I made a mistake on my first review. It was t-e-r-r-i-b-l-e.

Going at such high speeds my bike wobbled out from underneath me, my response was a flying ninja karate dismount landing solidly on my two feet! With not a moment to spare in the jungle I grabbed my bike and ran up a small hill getting back on my bike and charge ahead. Soon after we found the road we were ...

On Halloween, T and Gav showed us around the French Quarter where we devoured some beignets from Café Dumond, got some croissants at a friend's bakery and as if we hadn't had enough fried and buttery dough, we also ate a couple-day old doughnuts that were hanging out in the shop. We all were so tuckered from dancing ...

I have to explain something that I call "The Fear Switch". If I allowed myself to be afraid of such things as: sleeping amongst the unknown wildlife creatures, crazy drivers, dangerous roads, bad people, rough cities, mountains, deserts, bad weather, isolation, hard work, even failure..., then I wouldn't last a day.

So, I turned all those fears off like little switches at the start of ...

Larry didn't come in, so here are pix of me with a boyfriend I found inside, and of Josh and me on those incredible stairs. Oh, and one of Josh with a pelican statue. I do need to add another photo looking up those stairs. Josh was peeking down in one, when I had stopped on a window ledge, so we'll include that one.
