Great place. Good value for money.
Spent 14 nights here from 8th March '04. Great location. Continental breakfast was free and I didn't tire of what was offered.
We were on the 5th floor (at my request). The hotel was pretty full all the time we were there.
I highly recommend the Bahama Breeze which you can walk to for a meal.
There was a 30 min wait when we went at 5.30, and a 45 min wait when we went one night at 6.30. Believe me there is a reason for it...the food was very good indeed. They do serve drinks and appetisers on the deck while waiting too so its not a problem.
Very close to the excellent Premium Outlet mall, and not far from that is the recommended Outback Steakhouse and Publix supermarket.
Hotel was great
The hotel itself was great. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. We started out on the 5th floor and with 2 young boys that was hard.We asked if we could get a lower floor , they said no problem had us in a new room in 10 minutes. I will stay here again. The arcade and the food court were not as good. The arcade had a limited number of games and mostly for teens , and no one there to help. the food court was very slow , not enough people to run it well. Once you did get food it was average fast food.
Would return anytime
I stayed here end of September 2003 for 12 nights. Alone, and I loved it. I had to move twice though, because the rooms I got where either noisy (above some vents) or above the noisy/bright entrance and near the vending machines (we're are not used to the noise of vending machines in Europe). The reception clerk was at the verge of getting moody with my change requests but held up fine. I was lucky the hotel wasn't full and at the third try got a wonderful clean, peaceful suite with a view to the pool. After thanking them, they never saw me again during the entire stay. I was also lucky too I didn't need the A/C as it's the kind that goes on and off when it reaches a high/low temperature. Would I have slept well then? I doubt it. Location is great too, near good and fun restaurants, near the Outlet Mall (wow, I bought a lot!), near all Theme Parks and International Drive. All in all, a great stay! I'll go back with my husband next time.
Indifference to lost items
We stayed at Springhill over Xmas, 2003. On Day 2 of the trip, a personal irreplaceable item disappeared from our room. It was discovered missing after the room had been cleaned by the maid. We immediately notified the registration desk of the loss and was told 'they would check around.' We felt the item (an antique silk pillow) had gotten caught up with the bedding. It was too large NOT to be found. We checked every day with the desk clerk, and finally resorted to stopping the maids in the hallway. The maids ignored us!! Everyone seemed indifferent to our pleas. Upon our departure, when we asked again at the desk, the clerk on duty did not have a clue what we were talking about! I still maintain the pillow was there somewhere but has since been disgarded.
Excellent value for your money
This hotel is excellent value for your money. I stayed in Orlando several times this year but this hotel is the best by far for what you pay. The breakfast is included in your rate and is quite extensive. The grounds and rooms are clean and have a separate living room, two TV's and a fridge, sink outside the bathroom, etc. The pool area is nice and provides towels (as many as you like). The people at the front desk are very nice and helpfull and have a Hertz rent-a-car desk. Also, there is a shuttlebus that takes you to and from all Disney parks for $5 a day.
I don't have to think twice if I have to book an Orlando hotel again.
Great Place, Great Value
The hotel is very new so it was very clean and updated. We went in the off-season (Sept) and it was empty. Suites are average size not small and not very large. We were at the Disney parks everyday so did not spend much time at the hotel, but the pool and kids splash area is fun.
The front desk is off to the side of the entrance/exit so you do not really get greeted by the staff and often do not see them. We arrived in the middle of the night and had to check-in next door at the Courtyard by Marriott but the Springhill did have a security guard walking around he was very pleasant. They have what they call a "Destination Desk" where you can get coupons for dining, but be careful they also encourage you to take a tour of their timeshare. If you never go to the destination desk or are not interested in a timeshare they absolutely do not bother you.
Love the Lake
I promised my nephew a trip to Disney after graduation. I requested info to my travel agent and she recommended Springhill Suites atLake Buena Vista.I wasn't sure, but, she never done me wrong before so i went on. I couldn't believe it. Service, people, the facilities, every thing was like a 4 star hotel, but the price. Rooms were very confortable, clean and had lots of big fluffy towels. From the time i got there the reception girl knew my name and always adressed me by it. I though that was very nice. Since i'm a Mariott cardholder i got a room with a view to the pool which was very convenient because i could catch a glimpse at my boy every now and then when he was in the pool or at the jacuzzi. The complementary breakfast was good and on time always. On that regard, they can use a change of menu from time to time. I spent 10 days there and wished for a hot meal. Facilities regarding transportation were great, all you had to do was cross the street and there was the bus. I would recommend this to everybody who is on a budget but doesn't want to sacrifice convenience and confort.
Awesome stay at the Springhill Stes
We had a great stay at the Springhill Stes. The hotel is conveniently located close to Disney. It's just slightly off the main strip which was very nice. The rooms are a little small for a suite but we were very comfortable. The sofabed is big enough for two small children or one adult. The rooms were extremely clean and always had plenty of towels. The Staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is adequate, but can get monotonous. The pool was great!!
Would definitely return and highly recommend.
Good Value for Families
I recently stayed in a one bedroom 'suite' while visiting Orlando with four children in tow. The room was extremely clean and well tended during our stay. The space was smaller than I expected and not technically a suite as it was one room with a partial wall that divided the space into two areas. The space was tight for 5 people. The hotel was packed with a variety of youth sport teams while we were there, yet there was never any intrusive noise in the room or congestion as we moved about the property. The cold breakfast buffet was high quality if somewhat plain and was a quick and easy meal prior to a busy day. The pool area is nicer than average when compared to other hotels of the same price. I paid $79 per night and were very pleased with the room and the service at the hotel. As a bonus, there was an attendant that could give information on area theme parks in the lobby that was very helpful and really helped make the most of our trip to Orlando. I would definitely stay there again. It was a great value. It was clean and it was a very secure environment.
Great Stay at Springhill Suites
We stayed at the Springhill Suites for a week while visiting Disney World. We have a 2 year old and the room was very accomodating and large enough to fullfill all our needs. We liked that there were two tv's so that she could watch her shows in the morning and we could watch ours. The only complaint on the room would be I wish the wall seperating the "livingroom" space was a little bigger to make the "sleeping area" more private for when we put our daughter to bed. Not a major problem at all though. The pool was very nice and the hotel provided towels which I thought was a nice touch. The breakfast was just your average bagels, juice, muffins but it was nice to not have to find a place to eat in the mornings. I liked that the 3 hotels in this complex were gated.

... welcome for the park opening at 9am. Fantasyland and Tomorrowland were the focus for today. We had our three fastpass rides selected so were ready for action. Straight to Fantasyland for Under the Sea-Journey of the Little Mermaid and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (a ride in a honey pot of course). The girls loved both so we were ready to ramp it up. We wanted to go on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, but ...

Plus side is it has made it incredibly easy to give up coffee. The tea has been dire, as expected, and we're running through our own supplies of lady and earl grey alarmingly quickly. They are quite into iced tea, which has been pretty good, and certainly hit the spot on the hot days at the New Orleans Jazz Fest.

Was even more awesome that I got to do it with Will, Dad and Gemma, even though Gem got shouted at for swimming the wrong way when she realised she’d hit the end. I heard the lifeguard shouting “ONE DIRECTION PLEASE” from underwater, caught her eye and did a violent hand action like “TURN AROUND!”. Compared to the thunderstorms the day ...

It hasn’t been as full-on a day as we’ve normally been having, but it was great nevertheless…and tomorrow we get to go back to Universal Studios and Harry Potter World….BUTTERBEER!
