... The coffee shop was still overflowing as I walked back home so I resisted again. Afternoon was for making my mum's now famous 1-1-1 slice for Feast in the evening. It was at Melvina's home,. I was honoured to meet more friendly open people and ended up in deep discussion with a neurological psychologist who has just submitted a paper to the White House to reform the education system! The locals say it's warm, but for a girl of the tropics I have my ever present cardigan on! Denton (or as it's promoted online - 'little d') is a university town; or I should say a 2 universities town about the same size as Townsville. The Court house is an imposing building in the central square and the small museum in it proudly shows off all that is Denton Texas, from Bonny and Clyde to ACME bricks! ... to recall the events of that day. The cockroach museum lightened things up for us- it was a quick, but memorable stop( wink, wink!). Our drive to Austin was full of exclamations-"Blue Bonnets!! Blue Bonnets on the right!!" The roadside was so colorful. Once in Austin, it was fried chicken at Lucy's- fun to sit out in the cool evening air with a tin bucket of fried chicken- and some FRIED deviled eggs. Yep- gotta get a cholesterol check once we return ...

... have chosen not to do, and we have regretted it, so going on that premises', we decided to fly over to Frankfurt on August 20 and return on August 28, Scott's final flight before he retired. (It was Karen's suggestion that we go and spend some time over there, otherwise, I was just thinking of flying over on Wed & return Friday.

Saturday 31st May

I woke at about 2 and then dozed off again until 4 which was not bad. Getting up at 6.30, I found breakfast in the Tex-Mex restaurant. It's a buffet and not bad with freshly made omelettes in addition to the normal fare. Fajitos for breakfast, though, is quite a different thing.
