          ... We felt very out of place. We stopped into the university area to do laundry and couldn't wait to get out of there. The kids didn't seem to feel the urgency that Hugh and I felt, the outskirts of a big city scares the heck out of me. As a teenager, I was able to fly with my dad to Chicago once. I'm sure I see things differently now.

          ... stage when the Peoria Municipal Band took the stage for their Sunday evening performance. Everyone came to their feet and the gentleman removed their hats and caps as the band began to play the Star Spangled Banner. After finishing everyone settled in and waited for the conductor to explain what the evening was about to bring and how the musical flavor would enlighten the crowd. Dr. Roman is the band director and had picked the evening's lineup of music.
