    ... tables and shooting himself in the head, as the soviets were taking Berlin. For lunch we went to a German restaurant and got a mulled wine and Josh got a beer.     ... marriage. Apparently there was one Stasi informant for every 63 East German people. And even thoughts were a crime, even if you didn't act on them, really glad I didn't grow up in that sort of environment, it would make it really hard to trust anyone ever.     ... memorial is a glass pane in the ground which looks into a pure white room with walls lined with empty bookshelves. There is a quote that is beside it which states "When you begin with burning books you end with burning people", this quote was from the Spanish Inquisition way before WWII.
