    ... design at the other side of the square. Wanted to get some concert tickets for Kev's birthday but there are no concerts on this week. Another km or so on we came to the Holocaust memorial, 2711 tomb like slabs laid out in regular rows, but of varying sizes and some at varying angles. Quite striking.     ... the normal fluffy frosting and on top of it city this super sleek glass and steel dome. It even comes with it's own cheesy tag line: to be transparent as the government should be to the people...hehe it begs the question if the glass is tinted :p!!     ... 1. It turns out that it was not where we thought - soooo...... We had to hoof it to the other end of a pretty long train - certainly longer than I was anticipating.

    As we asked for directions we kept being told to keep going until one train official said that ours was a few cars further but that we had better get on and make our way through the cars. By the time we sat down the train was ready to roll.

    I'd forgotten about the smooth, almost silent ride ...

    ... The Little Mermaid, Rosenberg Palace, the world's first ever shopping mall precinct all the while jumping on and off the Big Red Bus (now a common sight in many of the big world cities). We tried to call in on Mary & Fred but it seems our people and their people couldn't arrange lunch in time, so all the pity for them.     Today was the first day out in Berlin. I was determined to make the most of it after the right-off that was Sunday. We decided to start the day off deep in the bowels of Nazi Germany by going on a Third Reich Tour. Our tour was taken by a Kiwi guy called Mike. Go figure!
