    We finally reached Cortina, a large ski village in a glorious valley. The first real ski town. We wound our way ever upward from here on a narrow switch back road through pine forest and snow becoming deeper by the kilometre. We reached the top of the plateau, I cannot describe the view.     ... full of people! Apart from a few cyclists we'd met the night before we thought the place was empty!
