... was not a stroll in the park. The short cable car ride rises to 1575m before there is another 20min walk to the entrance of the cave system at 1641m. Along the walk we were treated to breathtaking vistas of the valley below. We were also reminded of just how steep and winding the path was ahead of us. On arrival at the entrance, I (Pete) was rather hot and bothered from the steep walk and high temperatures. However, the temperature inside the cave is ...

Back on the mainland, we decided it was so nice that we would stay for dinner. There was a
festival on at the shoreline with tents and live music so we decided to take in the surroundings with a beer and some BBQ chicken and chips. It was the perfect way to end the day and magical to see the mountains fade in the falling light and turn into silhouettes. We didn’t have long to drive into the mountains to our hotel called Prinzregent in Marquartstein.

... was very touching and heart-wrenching all at the same time. It was so sad to see what happened to the victims and their loved ones during the Holocaust. After the video we had a guided tour of the camp, given by a German woman who really did a great job giving information about Dachau. Dachau was actually the first concentration camp built during the Third Reich, and was only for men. It was funny because our tour guide kept saying the camp was only for "men ...
