I then decided we could get a tram over to the local transport museum, actually the tube ;) so off we headed but to find that it was closed, however we did stumble across a beautiful old Austrian pub and this really was excellent, the staff were warm and friendly and it had a great atmosphere, Mum and Dad had the soup and I enjoyed rump steak. ...

... we found it which is more than can be said for the Donautrum, the 252 metre tower which is alleged to give great views of the city. When we tried to visit we could not find a way to reach the tower; despite being able to see it in the distance it remained a frustratingly distant mirage and we eventually gave up.

The history of Vienna is associated with the Hapsburgs and we visited a few of the major buildings associated with the empire. We enjoyed our day ...
