... we were back on the plane headed for London. It was sad for Anita's relatives throughout this trip. They hadn't seen her for 10 years (some had never met her) and weren't sure when they'd see her again. One thing i'd learnt along the way was Polish families are close, so to say goodbye to her was a tear jerking moment. What wasn't so tear jerking was the flight back. I was impressed with W!zz...even if they do spell their name with an exclamation mark!
Kamienna Góra, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Poland andrew.campbell... Mountains is part of the larger Sudetes range. Its highest peak is Sniezka which stands on the border between the Poland and Czech Republic - at a height of 1602 meters above sea level. The mountains are wonderful for trekking and ski. Large areas of the mountains are preserved as National Park.

... the north of the country as planned, we also popped back into Germany a few times, Sharon felt a bit safer free camping in Germany as its more accepted and there are more rest stops. This also meant we got to check out Dresden which was as expected really nice, it reminded me of a very compact Paris, lots of buildings in a style not normally associated with Germany but carefully restored to something near its former glory since the war. The center of Dresden ...
Liberec, Bohemia, Czech Republic pihollandal the former eastern bloc countries make for good travel,, but the one that i return to is the czech republic,, mainly to the north [north bohemia],liberec, harrochov, cesky raj, but a trip or two to moravia is also worth taking,,. during the communist times it was an eye opener, now also as the people wish for the return of those times, they knew where their bread was coming from, and the upgrades fron old skoda to super fast motorcars,, ah they stilll are crazy on the roads
Liberec, Bohemia, Czech Republic jefa... takze sme vybrali nase jesenne vertovky, ktore s nami precestovali pol sveta za posledny tyzden a mohli sme objavovat mesto pred nami. Liberec ma krasny architekturu z cias ked to bolo druhe najvyznamnejsie mesto v Cechach. Jeho odevnicky a tkacsky priemysel je preslaveny v celom byvalom Ceskoslovensku.
Liberec, Bohemia, Czech Republic mozi... of pleasure, prayer, and balance in life. Hornet Flight by Ken Follet An espionage-action novel set in WWII Denmark by the author of Pillars of the Earth. A pretty eclectic mix, which is how I like it. I actually NEED to re-read the Chesterton because it was such a paradoxical page turner that I am still trying to wrap my head around it. Still, I look forward to Krakow in a few days and the promise of some new reading material.
Teplice, Bohemia, Czech Republic steffeff... that most of people travel to Poland through Germany, which was pointless for us. Therefore we took another bus to H... something, and from there we hitchhiked twice to Szklarska Poreba. Finally at home! Well, almost. Afterwards we took a Polish coach to Jelenia Gora and from there we had a journey straight towards home - to Wroclaw and Opole. We wanted to spend the upcoming night in our own beds, that`s why the last ...
Szklarska Poreba, Western Poland, Poland bogna... hiking and siteseeing, mixing some exercise with leisure time. I'd love to make it back to these parts some day, and do the seven hour hike from Mt Sniezka to Mt Szrenica, at the western end of the park near the town of Szklarska Poreba. Unfortunately, that wouldn't be happening for a while as I only had another 6 weeks left in Poland before I was to fly to Scotland to begin a position at a summer school. Nevertheless, it was a great opportunity to see a part of the country I'd never seen.
Karpacz, Western Poland, Poland will9/10/07 Day 71 Today we travelled into the Czech Republic to a town called Trutnov just across the boarder near the alps. it's a cold day but the roads were gratefully uneventful and we arrive in the afternoon. Having no currency we headed off to find a bank and the shops, we get out 2000 Zakona and only get 2 notes, the problem is we have no idea what the exchange is, and can only guess. We do the shopping for just over 1000z and wonder if it was a ...
Trutnov, Czech Republic rob.jenn... yes snow, how do I go from 40 degrees in cairo to snow in 8 days. I make it back to the hotel and go to the only restaurant that is open and eat with the only people I saw on the trail, it was like one cozy family. The next day I take the other trail and again hike for about 6 hours, this time the trail goes through meadows and fields, an easier hike but just as nice. I go back to the same restaurant and see the same people again. The next moring I make my way to Krakaw Poland.
