That night we spent at a B&B in Chiavenna, Italy. What a great place to wander around. This city played a key role in history. Today it is a charming mountain town with great food and wonderful old buildings (good prices too... compared ...

... in the need to be her eyes and ears as well as my own.

There were times when I thought that I couldn’t go any further but realised that I must be getting fitter because a short stop to catch my breath and I could carry on. I remember a seasoned Burton Rambler telling me ‘Oh no dear, it never gets any easier but the recovery time becomes so much quicker!’ She was right!
