... dark even after. The stallions are for the first 3 years kept in the stables near Postojna, after the selection is done, just the best ones are not castrated, poor horses... the mares are used just for cart pulling, approx. untill 25 years old, after they retire ad they live happily in the stables till they are 32-35 years old. All breeding is done by insemination, no natural sexual pleasures, again poor horses... there is also a beautiful little church ...

Kumrovec, Croatia budz888... We went up into the mountains near Zagreb. Their version of Mount Wellington, but much nicer scenery and heaps of restaurants by the road all the way to the top. People would park then walk for a bit and stop for lunch.

Like most of Europe Croatia is very dog friendly.

Apparently this is a speciality in Zagreb. The hugest casserole you've ever seen. Lots of meat, lots of wine.

Slavko's staying with Vesna ...
Sutla, Zagrebačka, Croatia budz888... gravel in search of the must-see waterfall. We got to the top of the hill only to learn that we now had a 20 minute hike up to see it. We were far too invested at this point to turn back now. We plunged ahead and made it up to the top. The waterfall really was quite a beautiful sight. We felt the first drops of rain as we were heading back down. Coaxed back on her bike with a coke and a candy bar, I (Tracy) was cheerful. If ...
Sredna vas bohinj, Slovenia timandtracy... on a woman in a shop, saying hello. She said hello back, and then something else I didn't understand so I just looked at her like a moron and smiled. I seem to be doing that a lot at the moment, and I'm sure it will continue for the next 3 weeks..... The day was wrapped up with a slap up 2 course meal back at the hostel - a main of pasta with red kidney beans, courgettes and red pepper in a pesto sauce, followed by a dessert of peach with a side of Milka chocolate. Yummy.
Zageb, Croatia hels_belles... her embroidery, with her telling us in Croatian what she had done. She was cute and even if we did not like her work, we had to buy something because she was too darn cute! She drew a crowd and she was thrilled with the attention to her craft. Laurie was done with goat climbing for the day and that one was a steep one. On the way we did a little window shopping and during one brief moment Laurie caught out of the corner of her eye quite a site. This little man, had to be ...
Dubrovnik, Croatia rlineurope... Olga is very cute. she came to see us off at the train station for our 8 and a half hour trip to Dubrovnik, where we were going to find a bus or something to take us to Budapest. Anywho, she was saying through the window to us that ' I love you Shane, I love you Milli' in her broken/pigeon English. Milli said that she also said recently I love you Andree (Milli's nanna, who mind you, didn't hear this proclamation of love as she was in Melbourne). We told ...
Zagreb, Croatia shanemilliSo unfortunately the weather turned in Croatia. The storms that were chasing us through Italy moved there way into Croatia and I wasn't able to go the National Parks. I stayed in two towns other then Split. Sebenik and Zagreb. Split was a beautiful sea town. There were cafes and beaches all along the coast and you could rest at either and watch the sparkling Dalmation Sea. While walking the first day that I was ...
Zagreb, Croatia jwycoff... don't think it would have gone like this- Lachlan: "What do you think about riding through the hilliest part of the country, traversing the Alps?" Esther: "Yeah sure, that sounds great". I should have clued in on the map when a train route went through a big long tunnel rather than over this range that this was not the route for prairie girl. I think he must have either hypnotized me or been ...
