    Day 3 Cortina d'Ampezzo

Today we will be travelling "The Great Dolomite Road", rated as one of the most scenic drives in the world.

In this part if Italy we have noticed that all place names and signs are in Italian and German. In fact, the whole area looks more like Switzerland and Austria than Italy. Called by the locals as Süd Tirol and by the Italians as Alto Adige, this area was annexed by Italy after the Great War of 1914/18. To be honest, it still seems to ...

Instead we had a €10 note and coins adding up to another €10. He ...

... s funny sitting outside with snow under your boots having no beanie, gloves, scarf, just a jacket but feeling nice and cosy. It was great! We skied for a few more hours and we had an awesome time. We both had fun getting some sweet speed. So far this was my favourite day of the holiday! I was very proud of Ash and how much her skiing ability improved the second day! After about 6 hours of skiing we went back to the hotel and gave our rental gear back. It was now ...

... and a few pep talks and hugs she built up her courage to side step down the steep part (a good 60 meter or so). We got to a better gradient and although she was knackered we kept going to the next chairlift. We took that up and there was another steep part. I was starting to regret taking this route as I know Ash would be hating it about now, if she wasn't already. On the other hand, I wasn't sure the other options were any better ...
