Arrived in Split after a short flight, only about an hour I think, pretty uneventful. Checked into our hostel called Cro-Paradise, can only assume that by calling it paradise they were either taking the **** or that the 'Cro' suffix somehow changes the meaning of the word 'paradise'. But really who cares, the room was a place to leave our bags while we explored.

The beaches here are odd. I guess the people of Split aren't big fans ...

After our night in Dubrovnik we rested and swam and tried to prepare for another night out. Korcula is where it is claimed Marco Polo was born and the town is based on that theme. ... room, for the same price as a dorm bed. Score. The private room was in an apartment, so it had plenty of space, and full kitchen and bathroom. But the cherry on top was that the apartment was inside one of the guard towers of the palace walls that date back from 305 AD and surround the original city. And all within walking distance of the daily food markets, and the Riva promenade which is lined with upmarket cafes and restaurants.

... Grad / Hvar region is also well known for producing some of the best wines in Croatia. Enjoyed a dinner and wine tasting session at a local vineyard. Everything used in the meal was produced on site incl all herbs, veges, milk, cheese and of course wines. Wooden stove was used and energy produced by wind and solar … beautiful, wines, food, vineyard, vege garden, peach tree orc*********keys, cellar and sunset.
