... lived with Melang and brought that meal for everyone at the orphanage. They were really nice people and really tried to have conversations with us in broken English. They'd hired a Bemo which they were travelling back to Melang in and they invited us to ride with them. We headed back with them into the city and just had to catch one bemo back to the hostel.

Extremely humbled and happy that the trip to the orphanage was so positive, we left Melang the next day on a train bound for Yogyakarta. ...

... So I've arranged by flights back to Penang and I'll bus up to Phuket to start a whole new adventure.

Let's see where this one takes me, I can't wait, and definitely can't believe how lucky I am. Woohoo here's to a whole different experience, I never thought I would ever get the opportunity to go sailing on this trip, I certainly must have done something right at some point so here goes.

      Going sailing.... going sailing...

... Lawang, I love the monkeys waking me in the morning on the roof and paying around, it really is a one off experience... and will I ever leave? Well not if the locals have their way, they'd have me married off and staying putt! Only this morning I was asked why not stay one/two years, buy some land, build a house, live in Bukit Lawang... I really do feel honored, it's hard leaving the place and people I've made friends with, I've found another home from home.

... br> We rested the rest of the day, and the next day too we took a short walk to the bat cave to see the bats before generally taking it easy, enjoying the beautiful scenery and organising a trip to see some Sumatran elephants the next day. We met some guy at our guesthouse who didn't believe Terry's beard was real, he walked up and gave it a hard tug and caused T some pain.........but it stayed on! Yes my unknown friend it's real - and don't ever do that ...

... it was so tasty and well needed.
So upward and onward and then we saw our first Orang Utang, what a sight and we were so lucky to see many more as we hiked, in the wild and they were so keen to come down and investigate us apart from one thatgot aggressive and the guides ushered it on its way!
We made camp in the late afternoon and boy were we glad it really was a hard trek and we had covered 10km.We all got straight into the river ...
