... lived with Melang and brought that meal for everyone at the orphanage. They were really nice people and really tried to have conversations with us in broken English. They'd hired a Bemo which they were travelling back to Melang in and they invited us to ride with them. We headed back with them into the city and just had to catch one bemo back to the hostel.

Extremely humbled and happy that the trip to the orphanage was so positive, we left Melang the next day on a train bound for Yogyakarta. ...

... old baby who we stayed with for a long time. The mother was so careful with her child, offering a hand, letting it climb across her. After all the climbing up, it was time to come down. This was hardcore trekking! At times it was near vertical. We climbed down using the trees roots like natures staircase. The vines made helpful hand rails. The guides were excellent as all four of us were ...

The final descent to camp was the hardest downhill stretch we had done, scrambling backwards for almost an hour, it was such a relief when we arrived. We jumped straight into the ice cold river it was so refreshing! We showered in the river and then enjoyed tea and biscuits before a yummy dinner of marinated chicken, veg curry, tofu and tomatoes and rice. We were so impressed with ...

... it was so tasty and well needed.
So upward and onward and then we saw our first Orang Utang, what a sight and we were so lucky to see many more as we hiked, in the wild and they were so keen to come down and investigate us apart from one thatgot aggressive and the guides ushered it on its way!
We made camp in the late afternoon and boy were we glad it really was a hard trek and we had covered 10km.We all got straight into the river ...
