    ... clearly enjoy swimming in the cool river. We then are given brushes and start scrubbing, we have an elephant each and it's such a great experience to be touching and washing them! After about 15 mins the elephants roll over and we can do their other side. Terry is washing a male and notices his huge penis floating in the water, about the size of a Labrador....it looks clean no need to wash!
    Once they are thoroughly scrubbed the mahout says 'would you like a shower?' ...

    ... in the back of the jeep with Julian we were ready for a bumpy 2.5 hour ride up the mountain with Harry our tour guide.

    We arrived in Bukit Lawang late in the evening a remote village in North Sumatra and a 6 hour slow drive from Medan. We awoke to a scene of rushing river from our accomadation, villagers washing in the river and rickety bridges crossing between the 2 banks. The people are great all wanting to talk to you and we had only an hour tp pack our gear for an overnight stay in the jungle, talk about gluttons for punishment!
