... remember what I ate for dinner because the dessert was really what matters. I had the most amazing dark chocolate mousse with currants. Remember at the beginning of this post when I mentioned the chocolate was good here? Well it is delicious! Please see Erika's blog for more details on the chocolate mousse. Today we went back to city center to explore! We decided on a whim to do a chocolate tour through the city. And by that I mean as we walked ...

... And indeed these offer a more authentic and peaceful experience. Anyway, after an off and on rainy day, I did my Brugge thing, then continued to the coast to camp for the night. Yes, after 5000+ km I've returned to the North Sea. Tomorrow, I will cross into France and take the 12pm ferry from Dunkerque (Dunkirk) to Dover in the UK. From here we headed toward a windmill in the distance ...

Happy Birthday Cooper!!!! Today we did our first training session in the North Sea we had to get our boat out of the container that it came over in from Australia. We had to sail out through a 2 km channel to get out to the North Sea. The currents and tides are so different here than at home, also you can't see any land, so this makes it hard to have a land mark at the start of the races. We trained until 5:30 and ...

Day in Belguim

A travel blog entry by oneluckygirl on May 11, 2013

We had already used this travel day on our EuRail pass, so we decided, "why not go to Belgium?" We put our bags in a locker in the train station and set off. It took around 3 hours to get to the lovely city of Brugge. I've noticed they use a lot of bricks in that area. All of the buildings and sidewalks are made with them, and most of the streets in Brugge were cobblestone. When we first walked out of the train station, we were in a fair. People were ...
