This is a great hotel less then a 5 minute walk from the old town. Our room was clean and well appointed. On the 2nd floor is the breakfast room with an outdoor terrace overlooking the street and the park. There is an all-purpose store just a block away called Monoprix (food, clothing, sundry items etc.).

We took the Montenvers train up into the mountains to 1900 feet. From there it was a cable car ride down the mountain and then ...
I finally arrived to my hotel beside Lake Annecy 28 hours after my flight left Sydney and 31 hours since I Ieft Manly.
But my first sightings of the lake made it all seem worthwhile. It looked beautiful in the soft winter light. Hundreds or even thousands of people were "promenading" around the edge of the lake or through the manicured gardens. ...
