Our hotel is in Baveno which is a small village on the banks of Lago Maggiore. The Grand Dino Hotel is indeed grand. Whilst it has a bit of age it is a really beautiful location. Our room faces the lake which is massive and 80km long. Part of it is in Switzerland but most is on the Italian side.

We followed Ernesta down the deserted street stopping twice along the way to drop off the people who had chosen the other restaurants. Ours was the furthest away, like two blocks!
