Ed is feeling better and so am I. We awoke to an amazing sunrise which looked like a volcano erupting. We eventually figured out that we weren’t even looking at Sicily, that we were facing the Toe of Italy. Naples had a cold biting wind which Messina doesn’t have. We head to a farmacia to get a replacement inhaler for Ed and get directed to a local bank. From there we happened upon the main church ...

We headed out of town to Achilleion Palace, the retreat for the Empress Elizabeth of Austria. We had learned about her life when we were in Vienna last year. She built this house in Corfu in late 19th century style and decorated it with Gods of Ancient Greece, primarily Achilles for which the palace is named. There was a monastery that we walked to with raincoats and umbrellas and viewed the inside of the church. Greek churches have flat ceilings and are decorated ...

They all have contracts for 10 months. Their contracts are staggered and when they finish their replacement embarks. This way there is no large influx of staff emarking/disembarking.
The next stop was the MSC Yacht club. Yacht club cost approximately double the price of ...

... next day it gave way to blue skies and we were able to see what the Lonely Planet describes as the only fjord in the Mediterranean (not technically accurate, but you get the idea).

Kotor in general was a pretty old touristy town with many cute narrow streets to wander. There is a well preserved fortress at the top of one of the mountains close to the town that people can climb, it’s 280m up and many ...
