... became to drive to Sirmione instead! It's a beautiful medieval little historic town at the South of the Lake that sits on a tiny little island at the end of a narrow strip of land about 20-30 mins drive away. The entrance to the island is guarded by a beautiful castle built in 1277 complete with moat and guarding the tiny little entrance way to the village - no way Mike could drive the caravan through here! It was really busy so we had parked on the edge of the town ...

... We had a lazy morning, the kids (and Mike) went in the pool etc and then it was time to get those hot sweaty suits and dresses on and go and find the meeting. The English speaking congregation was about 30 mins away at Castiglione Del Stiviere. Up and out by 10 on a beautifully hot and sunny day. We got the bus to Canazei which is quite an achievement as the buses do not come according to the timetable.. You just need to turn up at the stop and hope that it's coming soon and that you haven't just missed it! In Canazei we got the cable car up and then another cable car up to a point where we could pick up a walking trail. It was a gentle 45 mins walk round the back of the ...

... gush, what on earth was that?? That was our awning corner pole collapsing under the weight of water from the roof! We all scrambled outside to support the rest of the awning and check out the damage. Fortunately no damage was done and we re-erected it in 5 mins, but we did spend the rest of the evening panicking that it was going to happen again. The worst part about the whole evening was that we had to postpone the pancakes!! ...
