      ... the afternoon, the three of us headed to town for exploration and shopping. Most all the stores were closed. The town is very derelict, seeming like a dead shell of what is, was or could have been. There is just nothing here that interested any of us.       ... wet. The waves were from, what appeared to be SSE, and started out being around @6 feet tall, very close together, and ended being @9 feet tall, very wide, and much further apart. We had our nose into the wind, and the spray hitting us was constant.       ... the Carbirineri we couldn't go into St Peters Basilica till the afternoon and we'd have to que up with everyone else. We entered the Vatican museum and saw so much opulence. Tapestries depicting the killing of baby boys when Jesus was born, the resurrection of Christ, artwork adorned every surface and pots dating back before BC.
