... Pompeii we said goodbye to Sonya and Dad Davidson for a few days as they headed to Sorrento instead of to Rome with us as we didn't think Dad Davidson would like Rome very much and I had wanted a fair few days there to look around when we had originally booked it all. Then we drove for about 3 hours to Rome. We ended up having to have our packs in with us cause the boot was a little to small for the amount of bags we had! I couldn't see Sim for most of the drive! ... like the Duomo, Napoli's Cathedral of Saint Restituta, with her tri-layered ecccesiastical styles competing on floor, ceiling and front for attention. Byzantine, Neo-Gothic and Baroque, all at one time. Pinch me I'm dreamin'!!! A phenomenal church to see. We prayed in the Chapel of San Genarro near his relics. The patron saint of Napoli, locals flock twice annually to see the archbishop pray over two ...

Our trip then moved to the Amalfi coast. Our home base was Sorrento, but we didn't spend all that much time here. We took day trips to Positano, Amalfi and Capri. While all of the places are extremely beautiful, we had a hard time coping with the heat. You would think that my dad would be used to it, growing up in India and all, but he was the biggest baby ever about it.

    Luckily, ...
