The next morning it was Andrew's turn to be in his element as he set his clock to be awake by 8am to watch the rugby. Unfortunately the game didn't go as well as he'd hoped but it was still great he had a place and a mate to watch it with.

In more recent times the presence of a main east-west rail line, the emerging interstate highway system, favorable state tax climate and relatively inexpensive land created favorable conditions for warehousing and distribution of goods. Good thing too, as Indian gaming took away a lot of prospective customers from the local casinos!

... a chance we were taking as there isn't much as far as repair facilities anywhere in between Jordan Valley and Winnemucca.

Most of the area through which we traveled to get to Winnemucca is rangeland. Some of it was burned last year in a fire that wiped out more than 40,000 acres. Everything is pretty dry as they too had a dry winter. As we got closer to Winnemucca, a little irrigation began to appear.
