... of mango flavoured cornflakes and fresh fruit we caught the bus to Mapusa (pronounced Mapsa). We found the bus station to be quite confusing with their Hindi- only signage, and all the locals pointing in different directions, saying "inside, inside!". We did however manage to get on the right bus, and did indeed go "inside, inside" the bus as suggested... In Mapusa, we boarded an insanely bright yellow bus to Anjuna, our destination, and managed to communicate with the bus ...
... is incredible here! Today a fruit seller came to my door with the basket on her head. I bought a papaya, a watermelon and some oranges, all for about two dollars.
My room has a small kitchen and a red old-fashioned fridge. I really have every thing I need to live here which is very tempting. ;)

... we had the time to take. It was an interesting moment when the buses tried racing each other to the bus stops. They get paid for the number of passengers that they take so it was a race to get to the next stop to pick the passengers first! They were cutting each other up and blocking the way then ushering the people on the bus as quickly as possible so the other bus wouldn't overtake! Hilarious to watch! ... a bit art deco in style but like an old fashioned theatre inside. Lots of gold leaf, decorative sculptures and ornate swirls and patterns. The main foyer is really grand with huge vase like sculptures in alcoves that repeat round the whole room near the room. The ceiling is like waves of plaster. They have the usual popcorn, chocolate and fizzy drinks on sale with the addition of Indian snacks. Seats are sold at three levels at this ...
... The amount of dogs seemed excentuated too as they were confind to a much smaller area of the beach. They fought amongst each other a lot and we also noticed how bad some of the indians beat them (they really were scared of humans though so no agression towards us).
