Hostels aren't the 'thing' in Jakarta it's all hotels. The few hostels that do exist have reviews that would turn most people away given another more attractive alternative...i.e. one of the many low cost hotels available (and some of these are eye wateringly bad and expensive). Jakarta is a happening place and a massive, massive city.

While not as big as some of the monolithically and mindbendingly huge cities that I have been to, like Beijing and Shanghai (which, when added together would have about as many people as my home country), it still is a very large place, supporting over 10 million people.

Kota Kasablanca is in central Jakarta and is one of the smaller centers. There is a service manager (who teaches regularly unlike ours) and four teachers. They needed help because one of the teachers had been approved for holiday as his visa was being renewed and another teacher had just arrived (literally 3 days earlier).

This center was much smaller but I LOVED ...
