... The river was really neat to see, as were the houses. The view up from the valley floor was incredible as well. This was a quick little part of our day, but worth mentioning!

The other thing I forgot was the scariest part of our trip. That's only because I'm terrified of heights, Jonathan was fine. We climbed the tower of the town hall building to get the view at the top. I guess I didn't really know what we were getting ourselves into, but maybe the fact that only ...

... might need a reservation. Sausages at the market it is! We found a trusty looking stall and a sweet woman waved us over and helped us pick a tasty sausage. Some of the best yet! After we ate it we looked at a chart and determined we probably just ate wild boar sausage. Cool? Whatever, it was delicious. Plus she didn't shake her head no AND they actually fed us. ... our street to the town square, where we were released, to reconvene there in 6 hours, at 8 pm. We first walked a few blocks to St. Jacob's Church, which although built in Catholic times and style in the 14th and 15th centuries, was not stripped when the Reformation arrived in Rothenburg. Whether due to someone's foresight, or pride in what the city had built to honor their beliefs, this amazing Gothic church, with ornately carved wooden altar ...

    Karlovy Vary

So after a very late night last night it was up early today to head out for a 9 1/2 hour excursion. We were headed to the spa town of Karlovy Vary- about 20 kilometers from the German border. The town was originally settled by Germans but now is heavily populated by Russians. There are 16 mineral water springs in the town, in addition to the many hotels and "sanitariums" where one can bathe in the mineral spring water. Each tap has ...
