Well, the final leg of our holiday, the drive back home. We left Kirstens about 1120am and took a different route via Cambridge, because there was a flying display on at Duxford. Likely to be big queues. A bit slow around Cambridge but were soon moving well again on the A14. We hit the traffic jam at Swaffam, about 2 miles long. There was a market in the town but it was not holding ...

    Lovely Lincolnshire

We have had a great visit with an old school friend in the Lincolnshire countryside. Lincoln appears to be the only hill in the county which is, presumably, why the place is awash with airfields (108 current and past). Lincoln itself is the archetypal olde English city with cathedral and castle on top of the hill and all streets leading ever upward! We tried lemon, lime, lavender, honeycomb, and caramel. All of them were yummy. We also got to try the truffles we had seen being made. They were strawberry and lemon flavour, I liked the strawberry. In the shop I bought a chocolate Scottie ...

    Cleaning the steam

In the morning Christopher, Jake and I helped clean the stream out. Jake got stuck in the mud. So I came to help but as I was climbing over the fence I fell in some stinging nettles. After I felt better, I cleared Christopher's shed and I cut some fire wood. I loved spending the day with Christopher. In the evening I went to see the new Avengers movie. Louth cinema was very small, but I loved the ...

    Grandma's house

A travel blog entry by patelfamily on May 04, 2015

Grandma had ordered some new garden furniture so Christopher, Jacob and I put it together. There was a bench and table with chairs. We had a few problems, but they looked really good when they were finished. In the afternoon we went for a walk in the muddy woods. We wore gum boots and got very dirty. We saw some badger sets and a quarry. In the evening we went out to grandma's favourite restaurant. I had a huge piece of fish and ...
